Dog Boarding

Boarding kennels at Ruff Housing

There’s a really big difference between a dog kennel and our luxury dog boarding.

Our bedrooms are fully ventilated, private, and enclosed to make your pup feel comfortable and secure. Even more exciting for dogs staying overnight is that they benefit from all of our daycare options as well. You can choose for your dog to spend their day playing inside and outside in our large play areas.

If your dog has special needs above and beyond our regular standards, such as requiring additional bathroom breaks, assistance with feeding, or needing a little help getting around, just notify us in advance so that we can discuss a specialized plan for your dog. All dogs attending Ruff Housing must provide proof of current Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella vaccines from a licensed veterinarian.

Overnight accommodations include a half day of daycare, at least 3 potty breaks (additional breaks for dogs not in all-day group play), bedtime snacks, a comfortable cot, blankets if needed, and all our attention and love! We also use frozen peanut butter Kongs, and lick mats if any of our pups are anxious or stressed in their bedroom. Water is always available in every bedroom, every playroom, and play yard. We offer house food and treats, although we encourage you to bring your own to help with your dog's digestion. If we notice your dog is having trouble eating, we offer pumpkin, chicken stock, and warm water as add-ins.

Importance of Resting

You may be asking – why is my pup resting and not outside with all their furry friends? Routine rest time during daycare is important to the health of your pet but also for the safety of the entire pack. Resting gives your pet a chance to recuperate so they do not exhaust themselves before their visit comes to an end, which is especially important for our full-day guests. Just like with humans, rest allows for the microtears in their muscles from exercising to repair and become stronger.

We take the safety of our pets and staff very seriously. Resting is an important part of our safety guidelines, including temperament tests and dividing our daycare pups into playgroups based on this temperament and size.

Medication & Food Policies

We are happy to administer oral or topical medications or supplements to your pets! Medication must be in the original prescribed container with the prescription label adhered.

Please bring enough food for the duration of your pet's boarding stay. You must provide individual prepackaged containers or Ziplock bags with your pet’s name and food measured by meal, or a meal packaging fee of $3 per day (max of $15 per boarding stay) will be applied to your pet’s invoice. Canned food and meal toppers are accepted in their original container, but must be labeled with your pet's name.
